At the Mailänderhof, the farm is more than a workplace – it is our home. Each and every one contributes with heart and dedication. Between the farmyard, garden, and holiday apartments, a true sense of togetherness grows. Day by day, this creates a place full of warmth and hospitality.

Where history takes root and the future grows

The name “Mailänder” comes from the old word mèdelant and means “hay meadow.” The farm was first mentioned around 1580, with Christian Mailänder recorded as a resident. In 1950, Edwin Rudolf Steiner and his wife Inge took over the farm and, with the construction of the main house in 1956, laid the foundation for “farm holidays” – at that time a special feature, offering running water, a swimming pool, and its own ski lift. In 1985, their daughter Walburga Elisabeth Borowan took over and expanded the business in 1994 with a wooden apartment house. Since 2016, Peter has been managing the approximately 150-hectare farm, combining tradition with nature-oriented farming and genuine Carinthian hospitality.
